Suppliers & Construction
MeyGen Phase 1a is being delivered by a number of different companies and their subcontractors. Construction is split between onshore and offshore works.
Onshore construction of the Power Conversion Centre at the Ness of Quoys is being management under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM) by ABB Ltd. ABB will also be supplying all the electrical equipment housed at the PCC. ABB have subcontracted the civil works to John Gunn & Son.
O’Connor Utilities Ltd. are designing and drilling the 4 Horizontal Directionally Drilled (HDD) bores which will bring the turbine seabed cables to the PCC site.
SHEPD are providing a 33kV underground distribution network connection to the PCC site at the Ness of Quoys from their Hastigrow substation.

Offshore installation of the tidal turbines and related infrastructure is being management under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM) by James Fisher Marine Services Ltd.
Offshore supply contracts include: ARL 1 x 1.5MW tidal turbine, AHH 3 x 1.5MW tidal turbine, Global Energy – 4 x turbine support structures, JGC – 4 x support structure ballast, JDR – 4 x turbine subsea cables
